Quote | Text | "There are at least 12 million undocumented immigrants in this country. Most simply walked or motored across our closest neighbors' borders. But many traveled clandestinely from Europe or Asia. They are not going back home on their own, and no matter what blathering demagogues say on talk shows, this nation has neither the will nor the wallet to round them all up and force them to go home. It's just more logical to allow the productive and law-abiding among them some path to legal status or citizenship. The new bill does that." |
